“Unirea” National College, Romania


“Unirea” National College is a public sector college of students aged 6 to 18 years old and 85 teaching staff. It currently has around 1500 full-time students which has to be selected due to the large number of those who would like to study in our college.There are 41 classes with the following levels: kindergarten 3,primary 6, secondary 8 and highschool &VET 23.Its main role is to provide training in vocational skills to students of many ability levels, leading to employment and/or academic skills leading to a University place.

CNU success rates are in the top 100 of colleges in Romania, and the key to our success is a strong set of values which permeates all aspects of our college life including transnational activity. CNU has been part of many innovative international projects and student centred initiatives in the past. As well as being the proud holder of the European School Award for its innovative transnational work. Amongst the CNU offer is a large programme of informal learning and enrichment opportunities that serve to increase the quality of lives of students and those within the community. These include CNU SMURD volunteers, the Students Union and BRIT Club and other informal groups.

Professional Foundation, Romania


Professional Foundation is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit foundation, established in 1998 with a view to promoting high quality in education, intercultural tolerance and appreciation, life-long learning, human rights, fight against poverty and discrimination and social inclusion.

It promotes:intercultural dialogue, networking at local and international levels,  international cooperation.

It is approved and accredited by the Ministry of Education for “Continuing Education”.

It is a member of QUEST (The Romanian Association for Quality Language Services) which is an associate member of EAQUALS (The European Association for Quality Language Services).

Being a medium-sized organisation but with a very active profile ProF  has organized a lot of events being immersed in human rights activities with children, teenagers, youth, adults, seniors, women and people with special needs, offering training and assistance to over 2000 trainees, with an emphasis on the new communication strategies as well as specialized methodology courses for teachers, mentors, youth, adults, seniors and students (Pre-service and In-service) in its 16 years of activity.

ProF promotes and guarantees the provision of language teaching of the highest possible standards through QUEST Romania quality assurance scheme. Through its EFS projects ProF has initiated a counseling centre for unemployed men and women who receives legal and social advice for starting a social enterprise both in rural or suburban areas.

Being very much involved in the young people training, ProF has been concerned with quality assurance in VET education and employability through its courses and seminars.


Pixel, Italy


Pixel was established in Florence (Italy) in 1999 and has therefore 16  years of experience in the following areas:

1) Organization of international education and training initiatives

Pixel organizes and deliver international in-service training courses. An average of 300 participants, from all over Europe,  attend Pixel international courses every year. 

2) Direct submission and management of European projects

Pixel successfully coordinated and managed  70 European projects.  Some of the European programmes that funded the projects in which Pixel was and is involved are: Socrates ODL; Socrates Minerva, Socrates Grundtvig, Socrates Lingua, eLearning, Leonardo da Vinci,  Lifelong Learning, Justice.

Pixel also coordinated and managed  over 30 projects funded by the European Social Fund (ESF). 

3) Organization of international events and conferences in the field of education

Pixel organizes international conferences in the field of higher education and research. Three of them are organized on a yearly basis. About 250 participants attend each of the events representing over 50 countries in the five continents.

4) Organization of international study visits, mobility and exchanges

Pixel has organized and managed several international mobility initiatives acting as host and intermediary organization in the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme Leonardo PLM/VetPro/IVT as well as in the framework of projects funded by the European Social Fund.

At European level, Pixel has developed cooperative agreements and partnerships with over 500 institutions cooperating with Pixel in the organization and management of its activities.


The Associação Paredes pela Inclusão Social (APPIS), Portugal


The Associação Paredes pela Inclusão Social (APPIS) was created in 2007 by a group of entrepreneurs  (42) who wanted to give their contribution and demonstrate their social responsibility for social inclusion through education.

The association has 13 professionals although 3 of them are assigned for other partner entity. APPIS develops an innovative family mediaton  project in all 3rd cycle schools of Paredes county (9 schools).

The association is dedicated to activities that develop the necessary skills in students and their families in order to obtain scholar success.

The strategic objective of APPIS is fighting against school failure and school dropout through the prevention and remediation of risk factors  by inducing external factors of success.

Additionally  APPIS also developed in 2010 and 2011 a project called Previne Paredes that aims to prevent risky behaviours and to promote healthy habits of life.

APPIS has experience in working with schools in different national and european projects as explained above.  We also have a Leonardo mobility project, we are coordinating a TOI called Family Mediation and we have being partners in a Comenius Régio project. 

We have also participated in a project held by the Municipality of Paredes named: "Paredes Rotary to Equality" that last from April to December 2013. APPIS participates in debates, training courses, sensilibilization actions, workshops, programmes and other events  held for different target groups: youngsters, adults and seniors.There have been at least 500 people involved .

We also work with Roma population and with vulnerable families and the topic of equality, especially that referring to gender equality is one of our concerns.


Xano Channel Asociación para el desarrollo comunitario, Spain


The association, started in 2010, aims to create growth opportunities for the individual and for society by creating synergies, tools and methodologies for the dissemination of culture and the civil liability of individuals and organizations. The activities of the association and its aims are inspired by the principles of equal opportunities between men and women disadvantaged.

In particular aims to:

  • Promote activities in the context of sustainable development and social responsibility of individuals and private and public organizations.
  • The promotion of initiatives and services in the culture of the performing arts, films, and the dissemination and promotion of such activities throughout the country and Europe.
  • Promote and organize cultural events, music, theatre, entertainment, films and participate in them with  their members if promoted and organized by other associations, public and private.
  • Pursue the qualification, professional improvement and social development of its members in the fields of education, culture, entertainment, tourism, animation, communication and Arts in general.
  • Promote and organize all types of events, such as meetings, conferences, trade fairs, seminars, exhibitions, courses designed to pursue the purpose of the association.
  • Promote and encourage initiatives for education, training, orientation, update information and disclosure.
  • Establish scholarships and organize placements and internships in the country and abroad.
  • Formative and orientation services funded and unfunded according to the specific business needs of users and the territory.
  • Design of training programs funded or in agreement with public and / or private, domestic and foreign.
  • Promoting transnational mobility through the design and management of training in the context of national and Community programs
  • Service activities of travel agencies of the tour operator, reservation service and related activities.
  • Publishing literary and musical editing the publication and distribution of periodicals, newsletters, newspapers, audio and visual media, computer and books in the areas of interest, addressed to non-members
  • Promote activities, services, recreational and leisure, sports and travel
  • Advertising and market research.
  • Participation in public tenders and private national and foreign.
  • Accompanying the study support and remedial teaching.


Leonardo da Vinci First Private School, Bulgaria


The school is situated on the right bank of the Danube River in Ruse, the 5th biggest town in Bulgaria, in a well-developed region.

The School comprises a nursery, a primary and a secondary school so its students are between 2 and 19 years of age. The classes are organised in 2 sessions; one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The students include children from the town and the region as well as kids and youths of mixed or foreign origin so they speak a variety of languages, have different religions, come from various cultures and ethnicities.

There are children both of Turkish, British, Romanian and Russian background and youngsters who were born and have lived in Britain, Spain, Canada and the USA, whose parents are both Bulgarian, both foreigners or one of them is Bulgarian. Therefore, they have difficulties in communicating in Bulgarian, which often happens to be their mother tongue.

The constantly changing multicultural environment and community presents a major challenge for the schools in the region. Our school has got some experience of applying cross-curricula approach, for example including fairy tales, games, drama, dance, sports, creative, ecological  and artistic activities in the teaching process.


The Institute of Entrepreneurship Development IED, Greece


The Institute of Entrepreneurship Development IED is an NGO that was founded in 2005 in Larissa, Greece. Our vision is to create an environment that promotes entrepreneurship, research and the entrepreneurial spirit and mindset of businesses, creating long-lasting relationships with society and the academic community. Its vision is to create an environment that promotes entrepreneurship, research and the entrepreneurial spirit and mindset of businesses, creating long-lasting relations with society and the academic community.

Also our objective is anthropocentric and our basic concern is to provide assistance to citizens and disadvantaged groups in order to improve their place in society, increasing the level of social inclusion.

The IED provides assistance and services in the field of education, economic and social development, promotes human rights and democracy and offers consulting and training services to organizations and individuals in the field of entrepreneurship, social economy, informal qualifications, vocational education and training…etc, through forums, publications, conferences/seminars, networking, collaboration with other institutions and other such activities.

Its experience over the years, in both national and international projects, has been in the aforementioned fields, while it has built a vast network of contacts globally over the years, which will be used towards the dissemination of the project and sustainability of impact and results.
